PLAY SUBMISSIONS
Avalanche is committed to fostering the innovative and unconventional voices in the Chicago theatre community, by developing new plays and playwrights. Through a series of rehearsals, feedback sessions, and workshop readings, we hope to foster the growth of new plays in a constructive and encouraging environment, and to offer a platform for new playwrights to have their work seen.
We are not currently accepting unsolicited script submissions.
Our next open submission window will be in August 2026.

ARTIST SUBMISSIONS
We are always looking for new collaborators to help us bring the plays in our Next Draft Series to life! The Next Draft process is typically a time commitment of 8 rehearsals and 3 staged readings, taking place over the course of 3-4 months.
If you are an actor, director, or dramaturg interested in being considered for an upcoming Next Draft workshop and helping with the development of new plays, please fill out the submission form by clicking the submit button below.

We believe that a robust Chicago theatre community requires collaboration, sharing of ideas and resources, and the support of a wide variety of voices in communication. As a highly skilled collective of artists whose goal is new play development and the fostering of a supportive Chicago theatre environment, our goal is for Avalanche to be an accessible resource for the entire community.
