ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Alondra Rios

Playwright

Alondra Rios is a Puerto Rican playwright, actress, and director currently based in Chicago. She recently appeared in LAS BORINQUEÑAS at Vision Latino and SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM at Oil Lamp Theatre. She is a co-founder of WOMEN OFF-COLOUR, a comedy group which recently debuted at A Red Orchid Theatre Incubator Series, performing sketch comedy throughout Chicago and the US. Alondra holds a BA in Theatre from Northwestern University. When not onstage, she enjoys weight-lifting, a good game of backgammon, and being a dog mom of two!

Christin Prince

Christin is a multi-hyphenate actor and artist based in Chicago, IL. Recent credits include Lulu U/S (Veal), Tanya (PATIENT), and Imani (Empty Graves). She is usually thinking about painting or her D&D campaign. Christin received a BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Kidany Camilo

Kidany Camilo [pronounced /’kidani’kamilɔ/] (pronouns any and all) is a multi-hyphenate theatre artist (Actor, Singer, Dancer, Director, Teacher, Deviser, and Playwright) residing in Chicago, IL. Originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, this chameleon-like artist is a graduate from the University of South Florida with a BA in Theatre Arts, and Purdue University with an MFA in Acting. Their artistry stems from their background in devised theatre, characterization, and avant-garde work. Their work as a playwright is haunted: by history, by family, by diaspora. Liam Bouza Díaz

Liam Bouza Díaz (She/They) is a Chicago based Latine actor from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Liam is an MFA graduate from The Theatre School at DePaul University. Some of their theatre credits include Odessa (Sophie Pike), Saving Myself (Elena), At the Wedding (Carlo), Lysistrata (Calonice), Her Father’s Daughter (Penny), and Marie Antoinette (King Louis XVI), and many more.

Lorena Estevez

Frasca

Lorena Estevez is a first-gen Cuban-American! She is grateful to be part of this process, collaborating and learning from such amazing artists. She is a proud member of Escándalo Comedy, an all latine improviser group bringing comedy PA’ LA CULTURA. We have an open Improv Jam, 1st Sunday of the month, open to ALL(even if none) improv and fluency levels, join us in community @escandalocomedy to keep up. She also hosts the “Chicago Comedy Awards”, currently at Lincoln Lodge, showcasing some of Chicago’s best comedian’s, 1st Thursday of the month, @thecomedyawards! She has her own fiber arts business creating signature accessories, and producing “Cabachet: Cabaret and Crochet” a solo night of music and stories, follow @casa_delore to check it out!
Recent Credits Include “Henry IV”, Westmoreland, Lady Mortimer, Shallow. “Measure for Measure”, Mariana. “Twelfth Night”, Maria (Olde School Shakespeare). “The Romanticks”, created, produced, and wrote the show with 2 other artists (Dama Productions). She received a B.F.A. in Theater Performance (University of Florida/NWSA) in Miami.

Maddy Brown

Maddy Brown (she/her) is a Chicago-based actor and dramaturg. Recent credits include The F*ck House (Strawdog), The Singularity Play (Jackalope), Trial in the Delta (Collaboraction), and a short on The Onion. As a dramaturg and assistant director, she has worked at Remy Bumppo, Steep, Theatre L'Acadie, and Avalanche Theatre. Manuela Alvarez Marquez

Dramaturg & Translations

Manuela Álvarez is a graduate from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Musical Theatre. Previous Chicago dramaturgy credits include The Three Sisters (Sandbox Theatre), Doubt: A Parable (Columbia College Chicago), Hooded: or Being Black for Dummies (Columbia College Chicago). Aside from Theatrical dramaturgy, Manuela is also a playwright, a Teaching Artist with Porchlight Music Theatre, and a researcher and translator for Documentary Films, including Mujeres de Las FARC (Mazdoc Productions / National Geographic) and Oro Ilegal (Mazdoc Productions).

Mayra I. Echevarría

Mayra I. Echevarría is an actress trained at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, with more than 18 years of experience in theater. In Illinois, she has performed notable roles in productions such as UZ: El Pueblo with Aguijón Theater Company, and Elvira with Colectivo El Pozo. She has also collaborated with acclaimed companies including Frame of Refence. Teatro Vista and GreenMan Theatre Troupe. In addition to acting, her artistic work extends to producing, writing, and directing local productions in Puerto Rico and within her current school community. Her academic background in Sociology, holding both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, brings a rich social and cultural perspective that deeply informs her artistic practice.

Nelson A. Rodriguez

Nelson A. Rodriguez is an actor, playwright, and co-founder of The Vivero. As an actor, he’s been nominated for two Joseph Jefferson Awards for Best Ensemble in That Must Be The Entrance To Heaven and for Best Solo Performance in Men on the Verge of a His-Panic Breakdown. His stage credits include Visión Latino, Subtext Studio, Teatro Vista, The Story, A Red Orchid, Raven, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Oak Park Festival, 16th Street, and many more. His on-camera credits include the feature films En Algun Lugar (TLA Releasing) for which he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the International Film Festival and Soul Sessions (Gravitas Ventures). Nydia Castillo is a bilingual actor whose work bridges classical rigor and contemporary storytelling, bringing powerful Latina voices to life on stage. Based in Chicago and originally from Puerto Rico, she has built a dynamic career across major Latino theater companies, earning acclaim for roles that explore strength, tradition, and transformation. She is known for portraying formidable, complex women—matriarchs, authority figures, and emotionally layered leads—bringing depth, gravitas, and cultural authenticity to every role. Her performances are grounded in emotional truth and enriched by a lifelong commitment to education and human connection.

Ryan Wright Cassidy

Ryan Wright Cassidy is thrilled to be working on this incredible play with this fantastic creative team! In the Chicagoland area, Ryan has worked with The Shakespeare Project of Chicago (THE TEMPEST, KING LEAR), Blue in the Right Way (WOMEN BEWARE WOMEN), the Athenaeum Center (BEYOND REALITY), and Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre (THREE SISTERS FORCED TO FACE THE SKY). Other favorite roles include Mr. Smith in JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN, Jim O'Connor in THE GLASS MENAGERIE, and Orlando in AS YOU LIKE IT. Ryan is a Philadelphia native who holds an MFA in Acting from DePaul University. He sends his love to Kathryn, Mom, Dad, Fiadh, Jessica, and Desdemona!
