ABOUT THE ARTISTS

AJ Schwartz

Director

AJ Schwartz is excited to be directing with Avalanche for the first time! They have had the pleasure of working with some of Chicago's most beloved storefronts including Steep Theatre, First Floor Theater, Bramble Theatre, About Face Theatre, and Haven Chicago. This fall they will be producing the third season of reading series-slash-party Here Are Some Plays I Like, and in February they will be directing the world premiere production of Zack Peercy's Kubrickian at Factory Theatre

Caroline Michele Uy

Dramaturg

As a dramaturg, stage manager, and/or producer, Caroline has worked at Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare, Steep Theatre, American Music Theatre Project, and other Chicago theaters. They also are the Director of New Work for Rivendell Theatre Ensemble. Other credits include: New Stages Festival 2023 (Line Producer, Goodman), Purpose (Script Supervisor, Steppenwolf), Wonder Boy (Dramaturg, AMTP), The Writer (Dramaturg, Steep Theatre), This Happened Once… (Dramaturg, Goodman Theatre), and Swing State (Asst. Dramaturg, Goodman Theatre). Stage management work include Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, Cendrillon, and additional credits from the University of Michigan, Trinity Rep/Brown University, Berlin Opera Academy, and New York Stage and Film. BFA Design & Production (Stage Management), BA Cognitive Science (Language & Cognition; Minor in Germanic Languages and Literature) – University of Michigan.

Dan Washelesky (they/he) is a director, dramaturg, playwright, teaching artist, and Managing Director of Bramble Theatre Company, where they are also an ensemble member. Credits include: Manhattan Theatre Club (Dakar 2000), Steppenwolf Theatre (Describe the Night, The Children, The Rembrandt, Lindiwe), Paramount Theatre (An Act of God), Bramble Theatre Company (Evil Perfect), Silk Road Cultural Center & Stage Center Theatre (Black Bear Island), The Passage Theatre (The Miscellany, Happy Birthday Mars Rover, Spirits to Enforce), Valiant Theatre (First Called, The Reverend Dr. Paul(i) Murray), Pride Arts Center (Dex & Abby, Afterglow), Eclectic Full Contact Theatre (Richard III), St. Louis Actors’ Studio (Blackbird), First Run Theatre (Prometheus’ Dream, Bird’s Nest).

David Stobbe

Demogorgon

David Stobbe is happy to join Hell Burnt as an ensemble member with Avalanche. A founder of The Tramp Collective, Chicago Credits include the premiere of PRO-AM at (First Floor Theater), Marie Antoinette and The Magical Negroes (The Story Theatre), Ophelia in Space (The Tramps) Regional credits: Waitress (Paramount Theater) Oaken in Frozen (Fulton Theater), The Big Bopper in Buddy Holly (Marriott Lincolnshire), Pap/King Silas (Mercury Theater). He can be seen in John Mossman’s Good Guy with a Gun on Apple TV+. Much love to his Wife Becky.

Jordan is ecstatic to be back with Avalanche working on this kickass script! Kevin Blair

Kevin Blair, he/him, is a Chicago Actor, Writer, and casting guy. Recent stage credits include The Swan, If This is the End (Theatre L’Acadie), Footholds Vol. 3 (Impostors Theatre Co.), and Moby Dick the Musical (Underscore Theatre). He has a passion for developing new theatre works with the In Bloom series at L’Acadie, as well as casting many of their projects.
