Alexander Attea

Alexander Attea is a playwright, actor, musician, illustrator, and the artistic director of Avalanche Theatre. His plays have been performed in 16 states across the country. Gabriela Diaz

Gabriela Diaz is a Chicago based actor and teaching artist. She is thrilled to work with Avalanche again developing They Broke Up in the Next Draft Series! Gabriela received a BFA from Webster Conservatory, and has collaborated with Teatro Vista, Bramble, Olde School Shakespeare Collective, Jackalope, Steppenwolf Theatre, Lifeline Theatre, Firebrand, The Art Institute, Babes With Blades and others.

Gabriela is represented by Lily’s Talent Agency; she has found creative homes in Avalanche Theatre serving as their resident Artist Advocate, and Erasing The Distance where she has stepped into the role of Managing Artistic Director. Her collective The Tramps have produced and toured original works, and were recipients of the Cliff Dweller's Club Grant for their production of Ophelia In Space. Gabriela will understudy the World Premiere of Evil Perfect with Bramble this fall. She extends love and gratitude to friends and family who uplift her daily!

Haley Bolithon

Haley’s theatre credits in Chicago include Grey House, The Haven Place, and Revolution (u/s) at A Red Orchid Theatre, Hatfield & McCoy, The Nutcracker, and Henry V at The House Theatre of Chicago, A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theatre, Spring Awakening at Blank Theatre Company, Pinocchio at Chicago Children’s Theatre, Herland (u/s) at Redtwist Theatre, Philoctetes at Proboscis Theatre, and the Festival of Unfinished Works at Bramble Theatre Company. TV and film work include Somebody Somewhere (HBO), Knives & Skin (Chicago Film Project) and Work In Progress (Showtime). Haley is a graduate of School at Steppenwolf and the Chicago Academy for the Arts.

Jack Disselhorst

Jack (he/him) is an actor, playwright, and teaching artist proud to be working with Avalanche for the first time. Recent performance credits include The Taming of the Shrew, Measure for Measure, Twelfth Night (Olde School Shakespeare Collective), Isaac's Eye (Redtwist Theatre), and featured poet performer (Open Book Open Mic). Jack's plays and adaptations have been produced by Green Shirt Studio and Piven Theatre Workshop, where he also teaches Meisner technique and ensemble adaptation. Upcoming credits include The Seagull, as devised by Sandbox Theatre Collective. Jack is a BFA graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University and a Master of Social Work candidate at Loyola University Chicago.

Jack Seijo

Jack Seijo (he/they) is extremely excited to be making his Avalanche Theatre debut. Recent credits include Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Strawdog Theatre Company, and A Red Orchid Theatre. Recent TV credits include Chicago Med and Chicago PD. Jack will also be starring in a new feature film hitting theatres this November as well as a short film premiering at the Reeling LGBTQIA+ Film Festival in September. Kylie (Ky) Anderson

Kylie (Ky) Anderson (they/them) is a physical actor and circus artist represented by Stewart Talent. Ky has a BFA in Drama with an emphasis in Acting from the University of Oklahoma, but has also trained at Stella Adler’s Studio in New York for physical theatre, The Actors Gymnasium Circus School in Evanston, IL for aerial arts and clown, and was in the School at Steppenwolf class of 2019. Ky is a founding company member at Bramble Theatre Company and has worked with a medley of other theaters in Chicago including Redtwist, Remmy Bumppo, Steppenwolf, and Lookingglass. But more than anything: Ky is super excited to be working with Avalanche again!

Mitch Fischer

Mitch is excited to return to the stage as Derby in "They Broke Up," marking his first stage production in 8 years! His previous roles include Felix in "The Normal Heart," Father Flynn in "Doubt," and The Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland." Mitch is excited to be involved with Avalanche Theatre and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate in bringing this "They Broke Up" to the stage.

Owen Hickle-Edwards

Owen Hickle-Edwards is a proud company member and Literary Manger at Avalanche Theatre. He has been creating work across various mediums in Chicago since 2014, including most recently performing in Eclectic Full Contact's workshop of Socks & Co., and cinematography for the feature length film The Lifeguards. Previous Next Draft work includes Time is a Color and the Color is Blue, Homunculus, and Infinity Burns. Other Chicago Credits: Outlaws with Avalanche Theatre, Neighborhood 3 with Bower Theatre, and Blue/Orange, After the Dance, A Number, and Scenes From an Execution, all with Runcible Theatre. He is from High Point, North Carolina.

Skyler Tarnas

Skyler Tarnas is a Michigan-born-and-raised writer with a growing fancy hat collection and strong opinions on Shakespeare’s villainesses. Previous work with Theatre Nova, Bramble Theatre, and Murmuration Theatre, and last “seen” with Avalanche writing for the 24 Hour Play Fest. He obtained his MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage from Northwestern University, Class of 2021. Skyler's plays seek to explore queerness, worlds ending, and our capacities for both love and cruelty - but, you know, like in a fun way. Love love love to everyone at Avalanche and this impeccable cast & crew.

Spencer Ryan Diedrick

Spencer Ryan Diedrick (he/him/his) is a Chicago-based theatre director, dramaturg, and advocate for original & underappreciated voices. He is overjoyed to be collaborating further with Skyler, just a few scant months after his piece for Avalanche’s 24-Hour Fest, Bedbugs: The Musical. Recent credits include A Case for the Existence of God by Samuel D. Hunter (Steep - Assistant Director), The Hatmaker's Wife by Lauren Yee (Theatre EVOLVE - Director), Jump by Charly Evon Simpson (Shattered Globe - Dramaturg), The Delivery by Charlotte Jung (Inclusive Playwright Project / Trap Door - Director), THEM by August Forman (Broken Nose - Director), and Fragmented by Karissa Murrell Myers (Our Perspective - Director). His work has also been seen at Red Tape, Eclipse, American Blues, TimeLine, Griffin, Raven, and Emerald City. Regional: Mycelium by Juliet Kang Huneke, Tomato Tattoo by Rammel Chan (PlayGround-San Francisco), Once by Enda Walsh, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (The GhostLight Theatre). He is a proud company member of Playground-Chicago, and is eternally thankful for his friends, family, and community.

Zoë DePreta

Zoë DePreta is thrilled to be a part of the Next Draft series! As an actor, she’s performed all over Chicago including Red Tape Theatre and Steep Theatre among many other theaters, and regionally in Connecticut, Ohio, New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and California. She is an alum of Oberlin College, iO and the Professional Training Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville. To see more live performances, follow her band @mozeytheband.
